Why this Centre?
Our foods, home care and personal care products are used every day by millions of people around the world.
We want consumers to be confident that our products are safe for them and their families, and better for the environment.
Product safety is our top priority as highlighted as part of our Purpose, values & principles
Also within the booming economy of China, there is an increased focus on product safety.
Unilever has a track record, both globally and in China, regarding consumer product safety and wants to help further drive this to the benefit of Chinese consumers.
We consistently use modern risk-based approaches for our internal safety assessments of consumer products, both in the area of food safety and the safety of home and personal care products. Our scientists work to identify opportunities to minimise the potential environmental impacts of Unilever products or activities in terms of sustainability.
We stay abreast of the latest regulatory developments and apply the latest scientific knowledge and insights to assure the safety of consumer products in line with local requirements.
Collaboration is key to ensure that the best knowledge comes together in a pre-competitive way, to the benefit of the Chinese consumer.
The Unilever China Consumer Product Safety Collaboration Center has been established to collaborate with public and private stakeholders in key science areas underpinning the safety and sustainability of consumer products.
The Centre is part of the broader effort and mission of our company as laid down in the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan.
